Dr. Harvey A. Giller has practiced gastroenterology since
1981 and he started Digestive and Liver Disease Consultants in 1986. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Penn State
University and his medical degree from The College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. His internal medicine
residency was done at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, in Kansas City, Missouri. His gastroenterology fellowship was
from the University of Nebraska, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Giller is on several medical committees
and is a member of several boards throughout the community. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the
American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Bernard Feldman is board certified in internal medicine
and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He joined Dr. Giller at Digestive & Liver Disease
Consultants in 1990.
Dr. Feldman received
his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. His medical degree was obtained in 1980 from
the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, now Des Moines University. Dr. Feldman did his internal medicine
residency at Des Moines General Hospital and Brooke Army Medical Center in Ft. Sam, Houston Texas. He completed his fellowship
in gastroenterology at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1988. Following eight years in the army as a medical officer, he
was honorably discharged as a Major in 1990. Since that time Dr. Feldman has practiced gastroenterology, gastrointestinal
endoscopy and hepatology in Des Moines.
Dr. Feldman
is also a visiting Assistant Clinical Professor of Gastroenterology and teaches the GI fellows endoscopy on a part-time basis
at the University of Iowa. He is a member of the Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians, the American Gastroenterology
Association and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr Feldman has also provided gastroenterology care at
Des Moines Veterans hospital for the last 12 years.
Dr. Ellen Dy is board certified in Internal Medicine and
Gastroenterology. She joined Drs. Giller and Feldman in 1996. Dr. Dy obtained her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Purdue
University. Her medical degree was from Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1988.
In 1991, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency from Indiana
University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. She completed her Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Texas
Medical Branch in Galveston Texas in 1995 and completed a Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital
in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania in 1996.
She is a member of the American Gastroenterological
Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Shirley Pua is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
She joined Digestive and Liver Disease Consultants in 2004 and actively practices gastroenterology, gastrointestinal endoscopy
and hepatology. Dr. Pua did her undergraduate and medical degree, graduating cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas,
Manila, Philippines.
In 1996, she completed her internal medicine residency from the University
of Texas, Galveston, Texas and then in 1999, her gastroenterology fellowship from the University of Texas-Health Science Center,
Houston, Texas. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), American Society of Gastrointestinal
Endoscopy (ASGE), American Medical Association (AMA), American College of Physician (ACP), and the Polk County Medical Society.
Deb Huber brings to the practice over 20 years of gastrointestinal experience.
She started with the practice as a registered nurse but has been a nurse pratitioner since 2000. She received her Master
of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner from Clarkson College, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was certified as a nurse practitioner
through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her undergraduate degree was completed at Drake University.
She is a member of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association and
has served as a member of their Practice Committee and Editorial Review Committee. She has been credentialed as a certified
gastroenterology registered nurse since 1990. She has been active in the Midwest Society of Gastroenterology Nurses
Association serving as past president and treasurer. She is also involved in the Iowa Nurse Practitioners Society
and American Nurses Association/Iowa Nurses Association.
